Ocala, Florida, October 2, 2007 Elster AMCO Water Makes Splash in Nevada at AMRA 2007 International Symposium

Elster AMCO Water, Inc., part of the Elster Group, the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of highly accurate, high quality, integrated metering and utilization solutions, had a strong presence at the AMRA International Symposium in Reno, Nevada and drew the interest of industry press, consultants and utility representatives eager to learn more about its newly launched AMI solution for water, evolution™ AMI.

Roman Thomassin, President of Elster AMCO Water, presented at an Elster press conference well-attended by media, industry consultants and customers. Thomassin, who also serves on the Elster Group’s executive management team, discussed his strategy and thought leadership in meeting the challenges of a rapidly expanding water industry head-on.  He discussed the Elster AMCO Water world class AMR/AMI system solutions that are meeting the demands of a rapidly expanding water industry in North America.  These solutions provide  customized, innovative, technologically advanced products and services beyond meters alone. The Autovation conference provided an opportunity for attendees and press to meet with Mr. Thomassin and the Elster AMCO Water team to learn about their products and solutions, especially evolution™ AMR/AMI, the first total system solution for water utilities.

“evolution AMI was developed in response to customer demands for a comprehensive advanced metering solution for the water industry that will protect the utilities’ investment in infrastructure by providing a migrate-able solution from mobile AMR systems to a true fixed network AMI systems,” explained Thomassin.

Bruce Bharat, product marketing manager for AMR/AMI at Elster AMCO Water, presented, ‘AMI for the Water Industry,’ at the Innovation Showcase, and spoke in depth about evolution AMI and how it is revolutionizing the water utility industry.   The captive audience listened to Bharat explain the breakthrough technology and multiple benefits and enhancements provided by the “evolution™” system for water, including time-based rates, in-home consumption monitoring, remote valve actuation, on-demand consumption readings, and real-time leak notification.

“evolution™ is a complete AMR/AMI system that will serve as the cornerstone for any water utility that not only seeks the traditional benefits of AMR, but also seeks true utility-wide conservation efforts, unparalleled customer service, revenue protection and enhancement through overall system efficiency,” explained Bharat.

A live demonstration of evolution AMI was available in the Elster booth to allow utility representatives, media, and consultants and press a first-hand experience of this new, groundbreaking technology for the water utility industry.

Additionally, customers and clients were invited to an Elster-hosted offsite reception at the famed National Automobile Museum where they dined among vintage cars while listening to a live jazz band.
